The History of Forza

Back in 2005, Playstation was making millions from the extremely popular Gran Turismo game franchise. The game was fun, realistic, and way ahead of its time. and it was convincing people to buy from Sony’s Playstation instead of Microsofts Xbox, which couldn’t run Gran Turismo. So eventually, the people at Xbox decided that they would make an even more realistic game, and Forza Motorsport 1. The game had amazing graphics, amazing race tracks (real or fake). Compared to Gran Turismo’s counterpart, Gran Turismo 4, the game didn’t have that many cars, as its ~150 cars absolutely dwarfed Gran Turismo 4’s insane ~750-800 cars. But the Forza team worked around that by hiring a Pokemon card designer to make each car more special, and he ended up adding a “rarity” rating for each car to sho how special it is. for example, an early 60s Lamborgini Muria would get a high rarity rating. A Dodge Neon SRT,  not so much. and plus, sometimes you don’t need 30 different Miatas when playing Gran Turismo. The game was an instant success and Gran Turismo didn’t;t know what hit them. The Forza Motorsport games continued to get better and the Gran Turismo games became more and more obsolete. But in 2012, things would get even better…
